Selection of a general contractor to complete interior work on the U.S. Olympic Committee headquarters building at 27 S. Tejon St. will be handled through a formal city bid process.
“There is no inside track,” said city spokeswoman Sue Skiffington-Blumberg.
Lee Jenniges will be the city’s contact for the project award. The deadline for responses to the city’s request for proposals, advertised Aug. 13, is Aug. 26. All firms interested in submitting proposals for the project will be required to attend a meeting at 1 p.m. Aug. 18 in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
The building’s shell has been all-but-completed by G.E. Johnson Construction Co. Interior build-out will require another four to five months, CEO Jim Johnson estimated.

Dear Lee,
Could you please send out an RFP for a city-owned and maintained multi-purpose rugby facility?
I’d appreciate it.
Sincerely,
