U.S. News and World Report ranks Colorado’s colleges

Colorado Springs’ higher education institutions fared well in U.S. News & World Report’s most recent ranking of America’s best colleges.

Colorado College ranked No. 24 in the nation among liberal arts colleges.

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs ranked No. 30 among schools that offer undergraduate and graduate programs but few doctoral degrees.

And, the United States Air Force Academy ranked No. 1 among baccalaureate colleges in western states that  focus on bachelor’s degrees.

Elsewhere in the state, the University of Colorado at Boulder and Colorado School of Mines tied for 77th place for best colleges overall. The University of Denver is ranked No. 84, and Colorado State University is ranked No. 128.

And Regis University ranked No. 27 for best universities, master’s category, in the Western United States.

Harvard and Princeton universities are tied for the top spot.
