The Internal Revenue Service is getting its groove on.

Video and audio products that can help taxpayers take full advantage of 2009 tax provisions in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act are now available online.

The Internal Revenue Service has launched a YouTube video site and an iTunes podcast site for taxpayers.
The site at www.youtube.com/irsvideos gives information about the ARRA, tax tips and how-to videos which are offered in English, Spanish, American Sign Language and other languages.

The YouTube site focuses on the provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Videos highlight three key programs: the $8,000 first-time homebuyer’s credit for those who purchase a house this year, the sales or excise tax deduction on new car purchases, and the expanded credits for education and energy conservation.

Also included is a video about using the IRS withholding calculator, useful for workers who received the Making Work Pay tax credit during April through their tax withholding at work. Those with more than one job or working spouses, however, are advised to check their withholding to ensure neither too much nor too little is being withheld. The calculator can be used to determine if they should make adjustments.

The iTunes audio site offers IRS podcasts about ARRA tax credits. Those without an iTunes account can listen to those same podcasts on the IRS media Web site.
