Memorial Health System will not offer flu or H1N1 vaccinations this year.
“We think there are so many other places to get flu shots – even at Walgreens,” said spokesman Chris Valentine. “We decided last year that resources were not being adequately used in a flu shot clinic – and that they could be better used elsewhere.”
Valentine said the decision wasn’t financial, but was based “more on staffing issues.”
Penrose-St. Francis will offer a series of public flu shot clinics beginning in October and will announce plans for H1N1 immunizations later.
Clinics will be held at Penrose Community Urgent Care, 3205 N. Academy Blvd.; Penrose Hospital, 2222 N. Nevada Ave.; and St. Francis Medical Center, 6001 E. Woodmen Road.

Just to clarify, Memorial will provide flu shots (seasonal flu & H1N1) to its staff, as usual.
