If the city wants to attract young professionals then they need to highlight things that draw them. Outdoors, Mountains, Sports, etc. and establishing a downtown hub for them to gather at night.

No one talks up the amazing mountain biking at Palmer Park, nor the hiking in Cheyenne Canyon and surrounding areas. It's nearly 3 hours to the nearest ski resort from the Springs. Maybe it would be worthwhile for the city to invest in a closer resort. Where is the outdoor or open air concert venue that attracts national venues?

If the city doesn't invest in what's import to that age group then they'll move to Denver, which has it all and is still close by.

As long as the same people are invited to this meeting, nothing new will happen. These same people will come up with the same tired old ideas that they have presented before and they will fail.

Where are the fresh faces? Where are the ideas of our best and brightest college students? If this city is to change and prosper, the old guard must step aside. Colorado Springs needs new ideas from new people.

Our current leaders have failed. Bring in all new people to these meeting and implement their ideas. It is the only way for Colorado Springs to move forward.

The term silo, as used in the report, is a politically correct term for the word 'empire'. Until some of these llittle empires are broken down, there will be no progress.........

Some of the worst empire builders, and therefore those with the most to lose in terms of their fiefdoms, are names that got copies of this report, and, no doubt, have been invited to this special meeting on Thursday.

There is plenty of blame to go around, including the city leadership, but until some folks check their egos at the door, the report won't be much more that a very fancy, and very expensive, book end.........

But one very good part is, at least, we'll know where they got their numbers, ......maybe Angelou should have done the projections for the USOC.............
