Three major insurers to cover H1N1 vaccinations

Cigna, United Healthcare, and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield plan to cover H1N1 vaccination costs for members.

United Healthcare will reimburse clients the cost of administering the vaccination if it is not covered under current plans or if employers do not pay for the vaccination.

Blue Cross will move the antiviral medications Tamiful and RElenza to economical tier plans formularies, making them cheaper for clients.

Both antiviral medications are also covered by United and Cigna.

Cigna will charge no deductibles, co-pays or co-insurance, and prior authorization is not required. Cigna will pay for administrative costs.
