Ballot, school board forums scheduled this week

Three free public discussions about upcoming ballot measures and school board candidates are scheduled this week.

Manitou Springs

A Manitou Springs city council and school board candidtate forum is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. tonight at Manitou City Hall, 606 Manitou Ave.

 Mayoral and council candidates will answer questions from the media and audience members. School board candidates will introduce themselves, proposed charter amendments will be discussed and a 20-minute reception is scheduled.

Colorado Springs

A Colorado Springs ballot measure and school board candidate forum is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.Tuesday, Oct. 13 at Penrose Library’s Carnegie Room, 20 N. Cascade Ave.

Issue 2C will be discussed from 5:30 to 6 p.m. City Councilwoman Jan Martin will represent the pro side and state Sen. Andy McElhany will represent the con side. Audience questions will be welcome.

School board candidate statements will be made from 6:30 to 7 p.m.

A reception is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. 

Falcon

A Falcon School District 49 board candidate forum is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13 at the Sand Creek High School Auditorium, 7005 N. Carefree Circle.
