Celebrate Technology, Excellence in Local Industry award winners honored

The 2009 Excellence in Local Industry Awards were presented at a reception hosted by the Colorado Springs Regional Economic Development Corp. and Celebrate Technology on Nov. 5 at The Broadmoor.

The EDC Local Industry Awards included:

  • Corporate Social Responsibility Award presented to Booz Allen Hamilton;
  • Business Climate Award presented to the Peak Venture Group;
  • Company to Watch awards presented to Braxton Technologies, Combat Training Solutions and Elope;
  • Community Investment Award given to FedEx;
  • Pioneer Award presented to Goodrich Aircraft Interiors;
  • Chairperson Awards were presented to the Space Foundation’s Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy in cooperation with Colorado Springs School District 11, and Atmel Corporation;
  • International Award given to Diamond Wire Technology Inc., presented by the Colorado Springs Office of International Affairs.

Celebrate Technology awards included:

  • The Celebrate Technology Entrepreneur of the Year Award was presented to Kathy Boe, president and CEO of Boecore;
  • Inventor of the year went to Lyle Small, founder of Chromatic Technologies;
  • Bioscience and Biomedical Technology Company of the Year award went to HemoGenix;
  • Energy and Environmental Technology Company of the Year Award was presented to Neumann Systems Group;
  • Information and Technology Company of the Year went to CodeBaby;
  • Security and Defense Technology Company of the Year Award was presented to Intelligent Software Solutions;
  • The Richard Petritz Rising Star award went to BlueFolder.
