More and more reasons for Huckabee's flat tax. There is absolutely no rational American reason that the rich should have to pay a greater percentage of their money than anyone else. Of course, if you lean Marxist, then you want to make every one equal - equally miserable. Personally, I would prefer a national sales tax and if you got it and spend it, then you pay more on taxes. This would then catch all of the FOPs (Friends of Politiicians) that have the loop holes. The rich spend more and they would be taxed more with no loopholes. People earning and spending less would be taxes less.
Best yet, it would catch a lot of the underground economy of drug dealers, pimps and the criminal invaders that paid in cash. Or, our blooming legal but still immoral marijuana culture that is now allegedly medicinal. Still wonder how much you have to pay to get a prescription? You know those dealers are making money hand over fist over and under the table now.

Here's another great idea since everybody likes Eurosocialism... don't let people take or send money out of the country like most other countries do. Just think of the $4 to 20B that goes to Mexico annually. What that wouldn't do to help our local economies if it stayed in this country. No telling how much is being sent to China or east Europe.

I am not in the group of those making $500,000 or more a year, but I would sure like to be! I don't believe that targeting this group of income earners to pay for the health care of others is fair or logical. Just because you make more money than the next guy, doesn't mean you should give him some of your money. With this kind of logic, you should hand over your paycheck to me because my health care costs are hurting me. I'll give you my address. Also the SS system caps the taxes because at a certain point there is no way to ever recoop the funds already given. SS is not supposed to be a tax, but a supplemental retirement program. Shelley, if you want to pay more taxes just do it. Stop taking deductions and fork it over.

Those making over $500,000 should be very careful about getting up in arms over the possiblity of being taxed to fund the new healthcare bill.

From the article....“They earn their money. And they shouldn’t have to pay for somebody else. It doesn’t seem fair,” said Emerson Wilkins, 62, of Powder Springs, Ga.

Currently, the Social Security Administration collects taxes on only those employees who make UNDER $106,800. Once they reach this amount the 6.2% taxation stops. So, technically, the poor in this country are funding Social Security.

It's time the more fortunate in this country start contributing more.....and FYI, I am in this group of wage earners and would be more than happy to continue to pay the 6.2%.
