I ask that corrections be made to "Pot prescriptions scrutinized". The first thing being that there is no such thing as a pot prescription. The second being that "Colorado public health officials are concerned..." There are not multiple people concerned - there is a concerned official. The 3rd correction is that readers should be reminded that this is not a news article or a report. This is one sided coverage from a single source. No investigating.

Ned Calonge and the department of health fail to communicate is the known reason for a few Dr.'s being responsible for many signed recommendations. The market was created by Colorado Legislators for Dr.'s who are willing to take the risk to sign the recommedation. This market for courageous Dr.'s was created when Ammendment 20 passed and the Mayor and Attorney General at the time sent a letter to all CO registereed Dr.'s threatening Federal legal action if a Dr. signs / recommends Medical Marijuana.

I've spoken with numerous Dr.'s in CO who have no problem with medical marijuana but and will not sign the form out of fear. Naturally there has been an increase in patients sending in medical marijuana recommendations to the registry. There is finally a specialist that a patient can visit who is not scared by the State of Colorado or the Federal Government.

This is a State issue and turning to federal language defeats the purpose of a State constitution. The Colorado State legislators did nothing in 8 years since the amendment was passed. The Feds say they are no longer focusning on Medical Marijuana which has resulted in a legislative knee jerk.
