Business owners interested in applying for six grants offered through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act should take a look at the Governor’s Energy Office Web site for information and an application.
Grant topics include:
– Energy Efficiency and Training
– Innovation Funding for Energy Efficiency
– LEED for Existing Buildings Certification
– Energy Efficiency in Historic Buildings
– New Energy Economic Development
– Compressed Natural Gas for Vehicle Fuel Infrastructure
The Governor’s Energy Office will also hold a voluntary applicant webinar for the grants from 10 a.m. to noon, on Friday, Jan. 22. The webinar will cover best practices and grant guidelines.
Webinar participants will be able to submit written questions regarding the application at that time. A GEO spokesman said grant officials will be unable to answer any questions pertaining to individual project proposals.
Responses will be answered in writing and posted on the GEO Web site by 5 p.m. January 29.
For those interested, there are a few caveats. Applicants are advised not to rely on any other statements, either written or oral, regarding this application during the open solicitation period and should not contact GEO staff or any other state office or individual about the process.
