The latest e-mail spam is a hoax involving Intuit’s QuickBooks accounting software.
Victims receive an e-mail that appears to be from “Intuit,” saying it’s necessary to install a digital certificate in order to continue using QuickBooks.
But it is not necessary to install a digital certificate – and following the process outlined in the e-mail may result in the exposure of personal information to identity thieves.
It’s best to disregard and delete such e-mails.
