There are 77.5 million dogs and 93.6 million cats that are pets in the United States – and more than one-third of U.S. households own one or the other, says the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association.
That’s a lot of pets and pet owners in need of services.
One local organization is taking steps to educate Coloradans about how to enter and thrive in the pet-care field.
The Pet Care Services Association, based in Colorado Springs, will offer an “Intro to Pet Care Services” seminar series March 14-17 at the Denver Hyatt Regency Tech Center in Denver.
The four-day seminar will provide participants with the information needed about how best to either start or expand a pet care business.
Sixteen seminars about topics ranging from understanding the pet-care marketplace, securing financing and deciding what services to offer, to developing and retaining staff, and marketing one’s services will be included in the introductory courses.
