Amnet buys out competitor

Local small business information technology support company Amnet has acquired its biggest competitor, Advanced Business Solutions.

“We wanted to expand our customer base, and ABS felt like it would be a good fit for our way of taking care of customers,” Amnet CEO Trevor Dierdorff said. “They had market share we wanted, and I’ve always had the approach that good competitors make you stronger – they don’t have to be enemies. If you count them as colleagues, that attitude really facilitates finding these opportunities.”

ABS President Jeff Harrell, will be working short-term with the team to smooth the transition. Dierdorff hopes to have the offices combined by the end of March.

Amnet has offered jobs to ABS employees. Harrell is moving out of the market area.
