Old industrial-world thinking that maintains we stick with outdated equipment and obsolete practices because of the bottom line is akin to keeping DDT as an agricultural pesticide because it's cheap and effective. Get with the program. What about supporting programs that promote conservation, increase energy-efficiency and reduce energy consumption by home owners and commercial building owners? Energy demand can be reduced, oh, wait, if energy demand decreases then utility companies lose, oops, that's not going to work.

Why do groups like \Environment Colorado\ and the Governor continue to push unreasonable requirements on our electric utilities when all studies to date show that current renewable resources are so inadequate that they are not economic nor even reliable sources for electricity? And with \climate-gate\ the big rush to save us from Global Warming is truly a joke. Like S. Martin, I think we should let the engineers and business analysts at the electric companies choose what they think is best for their customers.
