Gordon named to CDOT aeronautics division

David Gordon has been named director of the aeronautics division of the Colorado Department of Transportation.

He will manage seven people who work directly with Colorado public-use airports as well as Colorado and national aviation associations to help improve aviation safety and operations.

The division also oversees an annual discretionary grants program that awards revenues from aviation fuel sales taxes to Colorado public use airports for infrastructure, safety and programmatic improvements. The most recent round of these grants awarded $5.7 million for nearly 50 Colorado airports.

Gordon has worked in aviation for the past 35 years. He served for 24 years as manager of the Jefferson County Airport in Broomfield, and since 2002 he has been manager at the Loveland/Fort Collins airport.
