Kohl’s will convert nearly half of its stores in Colorado to solar power by the end of the year.
The Menonomee Falls-based retailer says solar installations are under way or complete at four stores in Colorado. Six more stores should have construction starting in coming months.
In all, 10 of the company’s 23 stores in Colorado will have solar power. Each store will have more than 530 solar panels that will make about 15 percent of the store’s energy.
Colorado becomes the chain’s seventh state with locations with solar panel power. The company also has solar locations in Wisconsin, New Jersey, Maryland, Connecticut, California and Oregon.
The company says it plans to continue looking for new ways to use solar power nationwide.
