Shepard to receive lifetime entrepreneurship award

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs will honor Bruce Shepard with the 2010 UCCS College of Business Lifetime Entrepreneurship Award

A luncheon ceremony is scheduled for noon, April 30, at the University Center ballroom at UCCS.

Shepard is co-founder of Village Seven neighborhood and the Colorado Springs Economic Development Corp. and also served on the Colorado Springs City Council, the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, and as president of the  Colorado Springs Homebuilder’s Association .

“Bruce Shepard’s history of visionary thinking makes him an ideal role model for our students and the kind of thinking we want to help them develop,” said Venkat Reddy, dean of the College of Business. “His commitment to the community demonstrates that entrepreneurship is not just  about business –  it’s also about helping to build successful futures.”

The luncheon speaker will be John Street, an entrepreneur who has led companies to Inc. 500 list status.
