Council votes unanimously for Copper Ridge urban renewal plan

Colorado Springs city council voted unanimously yesterday to approve an urban renewal plan for Copper Ridge at North Gate, a 2.5 million square-foot retail development on 200 acres of undeveloped land southeast of Interstate 25 and North Gate Boulevard.

The urban renewal designation makes the project eligible for tax breaks that will help pay for a 4.5-mile extension of Powers Boulevard to Interstate 25.
