The grant will go toward general operating support.
Julie Penrose, who established El Pomar with her husband Spencer Penrose, was one of the founders of the Fine Arts Center.
“It is fitting that the foundation’s 10,000th grant goes to an organization with significant historical ties to El Pomar,” said El Pomar CEO William J. Hybl.
Since 1937, the foundation has awarded more than $400 million to organizations that impact all 64 Colorado counties.
In the past decade, El Pomar has given 5,697 grants totaling nearly $150 million.
“We are incredibly grateful for decades of support from El Pomar Foundation,” said Sam Gappmayer, CEO of the Fine Arts Center.
El Pomar grants and programs are used to establish leadership and community programs throughout Colorado.
