Nor'Wood does many, many good things for the community - however, I don't think this is one of them.
Sure, it will provide many more opportunities for the growing soldier population, however, what about using what is available already? There are many single-family homes for rent and for sale in both the Sunrise Ridge & Cross Creek communities already. How about helping those home owners out?
Also, I've been located in Sunrise Ridge for almost 20 years now and while, at one time, peaceful, it's grown into a sprawling mecca of shopping centers, townhomes and cracker jack houses.
I'm lucky and live far enough inside to avoid any additional noise from Mesa Ridge, but what about the environmental impact?
The property that Nor-Wood is planning to build is one of the only open-spaces and animal habitats we have left over here.
Can we not wait to see, and help the soldiers, get into the homes that are currently available. Just my belief that I think it would help the local Fountain Valley area a bit more than "new" development.
