The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center has partnered with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families and more than 650 museums across the country to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families.
The program will continue through September 5.
To date, the FAC has supported the military community in Colorado Springs with its art therapy program for Wounded Warriors and through the exhibition of the Lost Heroes Art Quilt which is scheduled to complete its run on Saturday, May 29.
FAC President and CEO Sam Gappmayer said the initiative is especially important based on Colorado Springs’ close ties to the military community.
“We are proud to be able to participate in this Blue Star Museum program,” he said.
For those families interested in viewing should take note that the FAC is open Tuesday – Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The gallery will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31 in observance of the holiday, however.
