Colorado’s Director of the Division of Real Estate, Erin Toll resigned this week.
The state Department of Regulatory Agencies announced today that she resigned effective May 31.
Toll took an unexpected and unexplained leave of absence from her job in March and hired an employment attorney. Neither Toll nor state officials have discuss her leave, and whether any legal action was taken is unknown.
The Post says Toll has earned a reputation as an aggressive enforcer of real estate laws and regulations since she took the job in 2006 but that her tactics have been characterized as overzealous and heavy-handed.
Officials said Toll plans to enter the private sector as a real estate broker.
