Van Hoy leaving Citizens Project

Citizens Project Executive Director Barb Van Hoy said she plans to leave the organization.

Exactly When she will step down is unknown, but she said Kristy Milligan, the organization’s development director and program manager, will fill the position.

Citizens Project is a nonprofit organization that promotes diversity and equality.

The news comes after Van Hoy led a successful Citizens Project campaign to convince the Colorado Springs City Council to revive the city’s Human Relation Commission.

Van Hoy said her decision was based on a desire to spend more time with her family.
