Labor Secretary Hilda Solis is in Denver today to discuss how women are influencing the economy during a forum with other world figures.
The forum Solis is participating in will look at the increase of women-owned businesses and how their enterprises can continue to grow. The forum will include 1992 Nobel Peace Laureate Rigoberta Menchu Tum and U.S. ambassador to Argentina Vilma Martinez. The discussion is part of one of several roundtables for July’s “Biennial of the Americas” in Denver.
After the forum, Solis plans to visit the Denver Green Jobs Initiative. It’s training people from the city’s five poorest neighborhoods in environmental construction.
