The U.S. Olympic Committee has a new main-floor tenant at its downtown headquarters.

Freedom Financial Services, owned by Roy Clennan, has leased 4,393 square feet of storefront space at the highly visible corner of South Tejon and West Colorado Avenue.

The news comes months after the March 2010 move-in by 140 USOC employees who relocated from the organization’s former headquarters at the Olympic Training Center.

The USOC currently occupies the building’s top four upper floors, but the first floor has remained vacant until now. The 10,000-square-foot second floor is still available for lease.  The property is listed with Sierra Commercial Real Estate.

“They’ve really wanted to be downtown, and this is a number one location,” said Tim Leigh of Hoff & Leigh. He, along with broker Holly Trinidad, represented the new tenant over months of negotiation.

“It was a straightforward deal,” he said.

Leigh also said the move will cement Freedom Financials’ increasing foothold in the world of direct lending companies.

“They’re growing significantly nationwide,” Leigh said, noting that the company also operates in California, Florida, New Mexico and possibly elsewhere.

As part of the deal, Freedom Financial will achieve a first for the building – it’s getting two signs, one on each side of the building. That’s in contrast to the USOC, which so far does not have its signature five rings mounted at its headquarters location.
