A wake for the dog was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the brewery, 1647 S. Tejon St. $2 from the sale of every pint of Laughing Lab went to Safe Harbor Lab Rescue in memory of Camden, who was once a stray.
Halifax, Camden’s successor, was on hand for a meet and greet.
The image of the smiling dog on Bristol’s bottles of Scottish ale, helped brand the beer that has become Colorado’s winningest microbrew.
Bristol spokeswoman Laura Long, said the recipe for Laughing Lab predates the 1994 opening of the brewery by about two years.
“It was a home brew long before the owners dreamed about opening a brewery,” she said.
Long also said the recipe predated Camden by a few years.
“But we never told her that,” she said.
