Beer map wins creative space award

It’s not exactly a giant step for mankind, but the fourth edition of the Beer Drinker’s Guide to Colorado did get a stamp of approval from the Colorado Springs-based Space Foundation.

The full-color, topo-physical map pinpoints the location of 126 Colorado brewing operations, using GPS-enabled measurements – allowing beer drinkers to venture where many have gone before.

The Space Foundation lauded the map for its innovative, imaginative use of space technology, certifying it as a Space Imanaging Product.

The Foundation awards the certification for products that use space technology to improve life here on Earth.

The map also charts data for the Colorado fourteeners – mountains above 14,000 feet in elevation – and used the new topographical information now available from satellites.

The 4th edition of the Beer Drinker’s Guide was released last month. And every guide comes packaged with the “passport to free beer” – another innovative  use of space technology.
