One multifamily investment company owner with $370 million portfolio and ties to the Pikes Peak region has added a new dimension to his commercial real estate profile: Event sponsorship.
Griffis Group of Cos. CEO Ian Griffis owns four Colorado Springs apartment communities including the Sagebrook, Oasis and Grand River Canyon Apartments as well as the Broadmoor Villas.
The Colorado College graduate hosted his first benefit equine show jumping competition in 2009. The event benefited the Lewis Palmer Education Foundation.
This month, Griffis will host his second Show Jumping Grand Prix on Saturday, Aug. 21 at his family’s Palmer Divide Ranch in South Douglas county to benefit two charities: The Children’s Hospital Therapeutic Horseback Riding Research Program and the Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center.
Equestrians from Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Wyoming, Mexico and possibly even Canada are expected to compete for the fastest time over a 1.4 meter high course of jumps.
The winners will share $20,000 in prize money plus a free ski trip in Breckenridge at the Grand Timber Lodge. All net proceeds will donated to the charitable organizations.
Those interested in the VIP tent with full dinner service should contact Katie Moon at Griffis Group. Call 303.949.2514 and/or visit www.griffisgroup.com/charityevent.
