Colorado hospitals cared for 1,300 patients every day last year – and now the Colorado Hospital Association has issued its annual report about the most common reasons for hospitalizations, and their costs.
“This report, when used in conjunction with the updated Hospital Report Card to be released in November, provides valuable information to consumers as they plan their healthcare needs,” said Steven Summer, president and CEO of the hospital association.
Colorado state law requires that hospitals disclose estimated charges to patients for inpatient care before they are admitted.
The CHA report provides information on average length of stay and charges for hospitalization by patients’ level of severity for the 35 most common reasons for admission.
