Thanks to a new government contract, Springs based-Combat Training Solutions will be able to expand and hire more people.
The company will join a small group of design and manufacturing companies that will compete for a $390 million contract, said Tony Colon, president of the company. That competition will allow them to hire more people in Colorado Springs, Florida and Georgia.
Combat Training Solutions is small business that provides non-pryotechnic battlefield special effects, IED simulators and live training support for military and security organizations around the world.
The contract will modernize army ranges around the world, for a total of $400 million during the next five years. It will provide for production, logistics, engineering, designs and integration services for the Department of Defense.
“Preparing our soldiers to better meet ever-changing military environments, war tactics and life-altering effects of today’s combat situations in a controlled training environment is at the heart of protecting and preserving life and liberty,” Colon said.
