Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele is in Colorado to rally support for GOP candidates during his national “Fire Pelosi” bus tour.
Steele will be in Fort Collins Thursday morning in the district that Republican candidate Cory Gardner is trying to take from incumbent Democrat Betsy Markey. Gardner has been critical of the job Steele has done as the RNC chairman and will not be attending the event. Gardner’s campaign says he’s missing the event because of a scheduling conflict.
Steele will also be in the Denver suburb of Greenwood Village later in the day. GOP gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes is expected to attend. He’ll also hold an event in Pueblo on Friday with Republican 3rd District congressional candidate Scott Tipton.
