Broadmoor in international sherry and cooking contest

The Broadmoor is one of four finalists chosen to compete in the U.S. finals for the 2011 Copa Jerez food and Sherry pairing competition.

The Broadmoor team –  Chef Bertrand Bouquin and Sommelier Timothy Baldwin – will showcase their culinary expertise during a live cook-off before a panel of judges on Oct. 6 in New York City.

The other finalists are:

  • The Bazaar in Los Angeles, Chef Joshua Whigham and Sommelier/Beverage Director Lucas Paya.
  • Casa Mono in New York City, Chef Anthony Sasso and Wine Director Ashley Santoro.
  • La Boca in Santa Fe, Chef James Campbell Caruso and Wine Director Adam Johnson.

In January, the winner will compete in the final competition in Spain.

The Copa Jerez competition is one of Spain’s leading culinary events.

International chef and sommelier teams from countries such as Japan, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Germany and France compete for a chance at the finals.
