Spring contractors pick up new, expanded jobs

Five area companies have added new or expanded Department of Defense projects

They include:

Honeywell Technology Solutions in Colorado Springs was awarded a $26.1 million contract to procure a satellite tracking antenna for the satellite control network at New Boston Air Force Station.

ITT Systems Corp.’s Colorado Springs operation added an $18.5 million award to existing contracts for program management, operations and maintenance, and mission support services to Air Force forward-operating locations in support of the U.S. Southern Command aerial counter drug surveillance mission at HATO International Airport, Curacao, Netherlands Antilles and Reina Beatrix International Airport in Aruba.

Locally owned Five Rivers Services was awarded a $7.4 million contract “modification” for management, operation, maintenance and logistical support of nine Air Force Space Surveillance System field stations throughout the world.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Fort Worth has awarded Main/Mass in Pueblo a $10.7 million contract for the design and construction of two administrative facilities. One is a single-story battalion headquarters building and the other is a three-story company headquarters building. Work is to be performed in Fort Carson, Colo., with an estimated completion date of Oct. 10, 2011.

Colorado Springs-based Aleut Facilities Support Services has received an additional contract award from U.S. Space Command at Peterson Air Force Base for operational and maintenance services to NORAD Northcom Headquarters, also known as Building 2, at Peterson. The company had already provided such services for two years. No information on the contract amount was disclosed
