Colorado business climate ranked 19th

Site Selection magazine has ranked Colorado’s business climate 19th among the 50 states.

The ranking surpasses the state’s placement of 20th last year, but the publication only lists the top 25.

Rankings are based on the number of new and expanded business facilities in each state as well a poll of corporate site selectors.

Under sub-categories, Colorado ranked:

• 17th for new plants in the first eight months of 2010
• 20th for competitiveness
• 34th for new plants in 2009
• 41st for new plants per population.

North Carolina topped list this year, as it did in 2009.

Following North Carolina are Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia and Ohio in a tie, Indiana, Louisiana and Alabama.
