Bennet’s travels include Springs stop today

A week after the election, Sen. Michael Bennet is back on the road and plans to make a stop in Colorado Springs this afternoon.

He’s scheduled to be at Il Postino restaurant, 123 E. Pikes Peak Ave. from 4 to 4:45 p.m.

Instead of stumping for votes, the Democrat is traveling around Colorado to thank campaign volunteers and supporters.

Bennet plans to stop in Boulder, Fort Collins, Greeley and Pueblo also.

He’ll visit with supporters in Alamosa tomorrow before heading to western Colorado for stops at brew pubs and a brewery in Durango, Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs.

Bennet narrowly defeated tea party Republican Ken Buck, allowing Democrats to hold onto a Senate seat once viewed as a prime opportunity for the GOP to make gains.
