Focus on the Family is taking up sponsorship of a high-school outreach program to talk about sexual orientation.
Focus on the Family said today it will take over sponsorship of the former “Day of Truth,” which has been co-sponsored since 2005 by Exodus International, a Christian group in Orlando, Fla. Focus on the Family has renamed the April observance “Day of Dialogue” and is trying to promote it as a day to talk about homosexuality in schools, not to decry gays.
Focus spokesman Gary Schneeberger says the sponsorship cost is “minimal.”
The other co-sponsor remains the Alliance Defense Fund, a group of Christian attorneys. The sponsorship change was first reported by CNN.
