Eleven local companies received awards at the 2010 Excellence in Local Industry banquet hosted by the Colorado Springs Regional Economic Development Corp. and Celebrate Technology last night at The Broadmoor.
The Boeing Company received the Corporate Social Responsibility award from the EDC, and the Colorado Procurement Technical Assistance Center and the Middle Market Entrepreneurs Group won the Business Climate Awards.
Three “companies to watch” awards were given to Neumann Systems Group, Rivada Networks and Cetis. In addition, Hewlett Packard earned the Community Investment Award. The Pioneer award was given to The Mitre Corp. The EDC Company to Watch Award was given to TechWise and two chairperson awards were given to MIND Studios and the Colorado Association for Manufacturing and Technology. The Harloff Company received the International Award, presented by the International Development Office.
Celebrate Technology presented the Entrepreneur of the Year Award to Marcus Boggs, CEO of CEA Technologies; Terry Boult, a professor of engineering at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, won the Inventor of the Year Award. Spectranetics won the Bioscience and Biomedical Technology Company of the Year Award, and the Manufacturing Company of the Year Award was presented to Chromatic Technologies. Altia won the Information and Communications Technology Company of the Year Award. The Security and Defense Technology Company of the Year Award was present to Amergint Technologies.
