The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments is creating a regional sustainability plan for El Paso and Teller counties.

The plan is still in its initial phases, and the PPACG has already developed regional goals to be reached by 2030.

The group has developed goals for transportation, natural environments, economic development, energy, water, health, materials management, education, arts and culture. The group will use the plan to provide a framework to identify how people can work toward the future.

The group is also soliciting comments at the Southern Colorado Sustainability Conference today and Friday at the Antlers Hilton. Surveys should be turned in no later than Dec. 1.

For more information, call Sara White at 719-471-7080, ext. 140.
