Colorado was one of 29 states to add construction jobs between September and October.
According to an Associated General Contractors of America report, Colorado added the fifth highest percentage of construction jobs over that time period.
“Considering that most states adding construction jobs in October had shed workers in September, it is safe to say that construction employment remains volatile,” said the association’s chief economist Ken Simonson. “Construction is no longer in free fall, but the industry remains fragile as improvements vary greatly by state and project type.”
The top five states:
Arizona – 4.4 percent increase, 5,000 jobs
South Carolina – 3.2 percent increase, 2,500 jobs
Texas – 2.3 percent increase, 8,800 jobs
Washington – 2.1 percent increase, 3,000 jobs
Colorado – 1.6 percent increase, 1,800 jobs
