Colorado Springs has been named one of the safest cities in America.

The city was 14th on FreeBackgroundChecksUSA.com list of the 100 Safest Cities in America for 2010.

Criteria for the list included cities with populations larger than 170,000, along with data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Uniform Crime Report for last year. FBI data included statistics of violent crime, robbery, aggravated assault, larceny-theft and motor vehicle theft, compared to the population of each area.
Visitors to the FreeBackgroundChecksUSA website can access a crime map and scan their residential areas for publicly registered sex offenders and criminals.
