The Small Business Administration has launched a technology tool for small businesses.

The tool, Business Technology Simplified, could help small business owners grow and create jobs, by showing them how to connect entrepreneurship with technology.

The SBA and Microsoft collaborated to develop the free guidebook, which includes fundamentals on the importance of technology and how it can be used to achieve business goals. In the foreword, Earvin “Magic” Johnson writes about his journey in developing a multi-million dollar company and the value of leveraging technology to remain competitive.

The guidebook includes material about do-it-yourself marketing, cloud computing and time management.

A printed version of Business Technology Simplified is available at SBA district offices and local SBA resource partners. Electronic versions may be accessed online as a publication or as an electronic distance learning course. The online course is self-paced.

To access the course, go to www.sba.gov/training, then click “Business Technology Simplified” in the “Highlighted Courses” section.

The SBA is the nation’s largest financial backer of small businesses and plays a major role in the government’s disaster relief efforts by making low-interest recovery loans to both homeowners and businesses.
