Unemployment in El Paso County continues to surpass that of the rest of the state, according to a report released Friday by the Department of Labor.

The unemployment rate in November for El Paso County was 9.4-percent, compared to 8.7-percent for the state as a whole.

That’s a spike from an 8.8-percent unemployment rate for the county in October. The department estimates 27,425 individuals in El Paso County to be out of work.
