McDonald Transit Associates, Inc. was selected as the new fixed route bus service provider for Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region.

Service is scheduled to begin in January 2011. According to Mountain Metropolitan Transit, the negotiated cost of $6 million will cover service for 2011, the first of five option years available in the contract.  That cost represents less than a 1 percent increase over similar services in 2010.

  1. Is that the Ronald McDonald Transit Company?

  2. The service is ONLY fixed route and the CMAQ (federally funded grant) Ute pass express.
It DOES NOT include paratransit, FREX, or ridesharing.
Additionally it DOES NOT cover the expense of City TSD oversight. The readers would be interested to see what the cost is for these additional services.
