The Department of Housing and Urban Development will be distributing more than $73 million in grants for foreclosure-prevention and transitional housing counseling in 2011.
That’s a 22-percent increase over last year, and a small portion of that will be coming to the Springs.
Colorado Springs-based Partners In Housing will be receiving $36,000. The non-profit helps homeless families with children “acheive self-sufficiency through supportive services and transitional housing.”
Organizations in ten Colorado cities will receive a total of $689,666 from the program in 2011.
A complete list of organizations receiving funding can be found here.
