A charity founded by Colorado anti-tax crusader Douglas Bruce is being fined $11,300 for not filing campaign finance reports for supporting tax-cutting ballot measures.

Administrative Law Judge Matthew Norwood ruled yesterday that Bruce’s group, Active Citizens Together, violated state law by not filing the reports. The group campaigned for three anti-tax proposals on the statewide ballot in November.

All three failed.

Bruce told The Gazette earlier this month that he’s formally dissolving the charity because it’s broke and has no money to pay any fines.

Bruce wrote the 1992, voter-approved Colorado Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights that limits government spending and taxing.
