U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn will head the House Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources in the new congressional session.
The Republican from Colorado Springs was named chairman of the subcommittee Wednesday.
Lamborn says the panel will review Interior Department policies he believes impede energy and mineral production. He says that includes the offshore drilling moratorium and efforts to close public lands to mineral and energy use.
Lamborn says as chairman, he is looking forward to highlighting Republican policies supporting an “all-of-the-above” approach to energy that creates jobs and protects national security.
Republicans won control of the House from Democrats in the November election.
