Sen. Michael Bennet says education is a top interest. The former Denver superintendent starts his work on education changes in earnest on Wednesday when he starts a schools tour.
The Colorado Democrat planned to visit an elementary school in Colorado Springs to start his school innovation tour.
Bennet will likely play a big role in the education debate coming up in the Senate. Congress will consider changes to the 10-year-old No Child Left Behind Act.
Bennet has said he’d like students to take fewer tests, and increase incentives for the best-rated teachers to make education a more competitive field.
