Colorado Springs-based LVW Electronics has won a $250 million contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and that is expected to create up to 50 jobs.
LVW was one of six contractors awarded the Electronic Security Systems and Control Systems contract, administered in Huntsville, Ala. The contract will allow the small, local business to compete for work around the world.
LVW hired 18 full-time employees last year and more than a dozen part-time workers last year . The company has more than 60 full time workers.
LVW specializes in engineering, installing and testing of advanced electronic systems. It is headquartered in the Springs, with offices in Denver and field offices around the world.
