Gov. John Hickenlooper has appointed someone to oversee the state’s IT infrastructure and to promote Colorado as a location for technology companies.
Kristin Russell, previously vice president of global IT service operations at Oracle, will be the state’s Secretary of Technology and chief information officer.
Responsibilities of the Cabinet-level position traditionally include ensuring IT security and reliability for state government’s computer networks and data centers.
Hickenlooper has added economic development to the duties, asking Russell the reach out to the tech industry and promote Colorado as a headquarters destination for tech companies.
